What is the 100% sure-shot way of ensuring success when applying to public unis?

Updated: Oct 1

1. Start early - How early? As early as your profile needs. If you have a low CGPA - then 1-2 years. If you have a decent or good CGPA, then start 6-8 months early.

2. Strategy for applications and career -

What do you want to do?

What are you good at?

What does the market need?

These 3 questions should be clear for you! If you don't know the answer to these questions, then think about them or get help from professionals to help you answer these!

Accordingly set a roadmap with a plan A, plan B and plan C. During your application process, unexpected things will happen. You will see success and failure both. Having backup plans always helps you remain comfortable and ensures the best outcome possible!

3. Learn German -

This is the surest shot way of ensuring career growth in Germany. As simple as that. English work and is enough for entry to uni - but having German is a great advantage. If you speak Germany, you'll NEVER need to worry about jobs again. That's how desperate the job market here is. All it needs from you is the readiness to pick up some German skills.

4. Select your unis carefully - not all courses are right for you and for your profile. Just because a course is being offered, doesn't mean that you're eligible for a seat. Most unis have limited seats, especially the popular ones such as TUM etc. So knowing which course and Uni works for your profile is very important.

5. Build your profile for your course of choice - If you already know which course you are interested in, start building your profile for it! If basic German is needed, then start learning. Get some practical experience or certifications - for example, if you want to study Cyber Security, then have some exposure to the topic before applying.

Such measures implemented in advance can ensure that your chances increase significantly and make a very strong impact, especially if your CGPA is in the 7-region.
