Renewable Energy Job Market in Germany

Germany is the home to Renewables.

Even much of the photovoltaic and wind research and development in the early days was in Germany.

The first wind and solar power systems in Germany were already active since the early 1980s. The solar manufacturing industry moved out to China as China took up the role of manufacturer of the world. But projects and uptake have

been on the rise consistently.

In my 3-4 years in solar, the market has gone from hot to warm to on fire. With electricity prices in Germany touching 40 ct/unit, all manufacturing companies with available roof space are actively pursuing projects. Where in 2019, a sale took 8-10 months to close, in 2022 the same sale of half a million Euros takes 3 months to close.

Germany is on track to install 10 GW this year alone, having a total installed capacity of about 48 GW in the beginning of 2022.
